Now I'm wondering if Trump's Saudi hosts are just trolling him

'Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational mobile McDonald's.'

Donald Trump is in Saudi Arabia today to celebrate a new U.S. arms deal with the dictatorship, praise the nation's journalist-murdering leader, and God only knows what else, and the Saudis are as usual milking Trump's fetish for pomp and circumstance for all it's worth.

Having Donald walk out to the dulcet whines of Lee Greenwood, rather than the national anthem, was one thing. But now I'm beginning to wonder if Trump's Saudi hosts are openly trolling him.

Not, of course, that he'd notice if they were.

As part of the red-carpet treatment, Saudi officials arranged for a fully operational mobile McDonald’s unit to accompany President Trump during his stay. According to local reports, the unit was set up near the Saudi Royal Court.

"Check it out, Donald, we spared no expense. We brought in a rolling cheeseburger command center."

"Great, I'll take a Big Mac. How much is it?"

"One American F-35 fighter jet."

"I'll take that and a large Diet Coke. Rubio, pay the man."

I mean ... really? You're going to welcome the U.S. president with a portable McDonald's? And it's meant to be complimentary, rather than an up-front parody of Americanism?

There's really no good way to tell if they're trolling The Criminal or welcoming him. If a guy in a cowboy hat next presents Trump with a deep-fried gun with a side of ranch dressing it might be seen as over-the-top, but hosting Trump with a McDonald's built on a trailer? I mean ... sure. That's pretty much the exact level of "classy" Donald aspires to. Touché.
