On Thursday, Donald Trump's media company unveiled a new subscription service. For the paltry sum of $100,000 a month, Wall Street insiders will be able to get faster access to Trump's post on his "Truth Social" platform.
Why would anyone pay such a fee? Because Trump has a history of repeatedly manipulating the market by posting policy changes on his platform, often including statements that are not true. Trump has used the platform to promote stocks he's already purchased, including posts that announced government contracts or involvement with those same firms, and repeatedly raised or lowered oil prices with pronouncements about the Iran war.
Trump's own stock deals included over 21,000 trades in 2025, with trading volume exceeding $1 billion. White House insiders are already making a fortune by making purchases right before Trump drops a post. Now anyone can join them in picking the pockets of the hoi polloi—so long as they can afford the entry fee.
With Truth API, Wall Street trading firms and other institutions will have faster access to Truth Social posts, which could immediately influence how they trade and could maximize their profits.
This isn't just corruption. It's meta corruption. Trump isn't merely using his own inside knowledge and the powers of his office to fatten his purse; he's directly selling his ability to manipulate the market as a service to the wealthy.
Here's what this incredible offer boils down to: Donald Trump is so consistently corrupt, that he can now profit directly from the widespread knowledge that he's corrupt. His corruption is the product.
As Trump said clearly back in January.
"You gotta win the midterms. Because if we don't win the midterms, it's just going to be, they'll find a reason to impeach me. I mean, they'll find a reason to impeach me. I'll get impeached."
In June, Trump's former commerce secretary repeated this warning.
"For the president, the stakes are extremely high not just in terms of his legislative agenda," he said. "If the Democrats gain enough control over the House I have no doubt that they will vote to impeach him and if they also control the Senate they will uphold the conviction."
But Trump was wrong. Democrats won't find a reason to impeach him. They'll find dozens.
As The Guardian reported earlier this month, if Democrats take the House, they will have an almost unlimited choice of corruption, overreach, and lies to investigate.
Legal critics call the scandals dogging the president “target rich” for investigations that Democrats will have a “field day” investigating if they win the House majority. Critics cite, for instance, Trump’s damaging the rule of law by weaponizing the Department of Justice (DoJ) to exact revenge on political foes and protect himself from federal investigations, plus Trump moves to profit in radical ways from his presidency with lucrative and new cryptocurrency ventures.
Investing in companies that he then awarded government contracts. Using the White House as a promotional site for his crypto company. Routing contracts directly to his own family. Ending investigations into corrupt friends and partners as they walked away with billions. Endless violations of the emoluments clause.
But wait. There's more!
The ongoing coverup of Jeffrey Epstein's human trafficking operation. Granting himself and every member of his family the right to perpetually cheat on their taxes without ever being audited. Forcing media outlets to hand over massive bribes. Suing his own administration then awarding himself with a $1.8 billion slush fund. Persecuting government employees for participating in investigations of his crimes.
This could be the first impeachment where the number of counts is limited simply by the available ink.
This is why Trump is willing to do anything—Any. Thing.—to prevent a fair and free midterm election.
Anyone telling you that there's no way Trump can substantially interfere with, of even block, the midterm elections is simply lying to you. Because the difference between what Trump will do, and what Trump is legally allowed to do after the courts bat it around for months, is immeasurable.
Fortunately for Democrats, America, and concepts of law stretching back to Hammurabi, Trump's first step in his election interference scheme was a massive stumble. Not only did major networks refuse to carry Trump's extended whine about supposed foreign interference in the 2020 election, but those who did manage to tune in found there was more reason to doubt the disheveled man behind the podium than a well-secured election system.
The White House and its allies billed President Donald Trump’s prime-time address to the nation on Thursday as must-watch TV, signaling that the president would reveal new evidence of election fraud and interference.
Instead, he largely resurfaced widely debunked claims in a 26-minute address from the East Room, alleging “vulnerabilities” in the nation’s election infrastructure without providing evidence that they were actually exploited.
The speech was so rambling, pointless, and toothless, that it may help end any attack on the midterms before it's seriously begun. Not even Trump's most ardent supporters could find anything in this speech to increase their concerns about election security. Instead of showing issues with past elections that justify Federal actions heading into November, it more than earned the social media moniker of "Pettysburg Address."
The SAVE America Act is not going to pass. If Trump is going to screw with the elections, he's going to have to convince at least a bare minimum of people that he has a justification for illegal acts. He didn't help himself on Thursday.
In fact, as Sen. Ed Markey noted, Trump's lie-riddled speech and threats to the midterms only provide another article to tack onto the ever-growing list.
Trump must be impeached for undermining and subverting our free and fair elections. And when he sends ICE agents to the polls, then we must turn civic action into civil disobedience and take to the streets. Sit in. Protest. Withhold our labor. Everything must be on the table.
— Ed Markey (@EdMarkey) July 17, 2026
Trump knows that if Republicans remain in control, his corruption will not only go unchecked, but he will be free to think of even more lucrative means of exploiting his office. If Democrats are in control, the party train may not end immediately, but it's certainly going to meet a lot of obstacles.
That's a powerful incentive for shenanigans. But if Thursday is the best Trump's team can do, election officials should feel a lot safer.
Oh, and remember: Impeach. Remove. Indict. Convict. Incarcerate. Or just go to the last step. I'm good with that.
