Tidal waves arenāt caused by the tides. They happen when earthquakes generate landslides under the sea, displacing huge amounts of water. A rogue wave isnāt caused by a Marvel character. Itās a large, destructive wave that forms unexpectedly in open water and sometimes hides among smaller relative before suddenly looming over ship or shore.
A blue wave, the kind that can sweep away a Trump-supporting Congress and finally reverse the tide on this rogue White House ⦠that kind of wave can only be caused by you.
As of Tuesday morning, the forecast looks good for a truly epic blue wave. Democrats are not only expected to retake the House, but in the closing months of the race, itās become more and more likely that they will also wrest away control of the Senate.
Hereās how the numbers stand as millions of Americans line up to pull the lever.

The three columns on the left represent differences between polling averages for Democratic and Republican candidates or, in the case of the New York Times / Sienna, show the results of a final round of polls. The three columns on the right are odds of winning as calculated by Decision Desk HQ and the people ruining everything through gambling markets.
I started to include Nate Silverās final numbers, but since he limited the results to paid subscribers, that didnāt seem fair. I will say that his results are also favorable to a Democratic Senate and that he has Talarico up by 3,3% (heās giving that one away for free).
We still have some hours to wait before we get to test these numbers. But feel free to hang out, express your fears, vent your frustration, and declare your optimism. Just donāt leave your āI Votedā stickers on the woodwork. Those things are a pain to scratch off.
You can also make your own predictions if you like, but be warned: there is no chocolate babka. Because I ate it.
