Trump's goon squads murder another peaceful observer in Minneapolis

Alex Pretti was on the ground when he was shot once, then approximately ten more times. It was a street execution by an American death squad.

5 min read

You do not need to watch the footage of the murder of Alex Pretti, 37, at the hands of as-of-yet unidentified federal agents. But the murder was recorded from at least three vantage points (here, here, and here), and all are close enough and clear enough to demonstrate that Pretti posed no possible threat to the numerous agents surrounding him.

Racist Nazi-cosplaying fuckwit Greg Bovino, of the Border Patrol, and other administration liars jumped in front of cameras to lie lavishly about the murder, asserting their latest American victim to be a "terrorist" because he was carrying a concealed gun at the time of the incident. But state officials confirmed he was licensed to carry, and the video evidence clearly shows that Pretti made no move for that weapon during the agents' violent assault—an assault brought on, once again, merely because Pretti was filming the agents on a public street—and that one of the agents had confiscated that weapon before any shots were fired.

No, this one was a street execution at close range, an execution of another peaceful observer for the not-crime of recording one of the roving federal goon squads and/or expressing displeasure with their actions. That is enough to get you murdered, in a police state, and we are in a police state because not one goddamn piece-of-shit administration toady is expressing displeasure over their agents murdering multiple peaceful observers for the crime of Being There.

Once again, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and other Democratic leaders are urging "calm," and "calm" is a lot less likely to happen this time around because the murder was so overt and the lack of leadership from the so-called opposition party is so obvious that Minneapolis residents have every right to both be furious and to believe, based on everything they've seen, that there will be no consequences for this murder just like there have been no consequences for the others.

I really cannot emphasize that point enough. The way to convince an angry and terrified public that they ought to remain calm is to give them some evidence that you, as a leader, are on the job and acting on their behalf. That if Americans are calm, it will lead to a better and more peaceful resolution than if they are not.

Seven House Democrats just joined House Republicans in once again approving bloated budgets for the Trump-Miller-Heritage ethnic cleansing program, and those seven Democrats, specifically, need to shut their mouths right now and keep them shut. For the sake of calm.

This was a murder. There is no way around it. There's no interpretation in which Border Patrol agents acting out a pattern of white nationalist violence can shoot a man on the ground, then riddle his unconscious body with more bullets as other agents watch. Once again, the officer(s) firing the shots seemed to give not a single damn for anyone around them—their fellow officers had to scurry away from the victim because they, too, appeared to be in the line of fire when officer Fuckup began shooting.

If American leaders want calm, they need to explain what calm will bring—or Americans will not trust them. Will the perpetrators of this murder face legal charges for it? Will concrete action be taken to end the hoax-premised federal street kidnappings? Will any action be taken, at all, to prevent another murder tomorrow, or another five next week?

This is so fucking haunting.

"Abolish ICE" is a minimalist position. It is short for "purge both ICE and the Border Patrol of all staff, create new agencies to take on only the roles and duties necessary, reclaim the paramilitary budget given to these goon squads and spend it on any damn thing else."

That isn't sufficient, however. These murders are taking place because Stephen Miller and other administration officials used provably false claims of investigating "fraud" to conduct random assaults on nonwhites in a major American city. The motive was to punish their political opponents, stoke white nationalist sentiments, and create violence for the sake of violence. This is not a legitimate law enforcement operation; it is a criminal one. It is a violent fraud.

These murders are the direct result of "Attorney General" Pam Bondi being a corrupt toady of a criminal regime. They are the result of feckless, violent fantasies by Kristi Noem and Kash Patel. They are the result of Greg Bovino's intentional thuggery.

There are a great many people who need to be in prison, if American democracy is going to survive as anything but a shell of what it was even a few years prior. And that is what Democrats had better start emphasizing, if they want to convince the American public that there is a "calm" path through murder and ethnic cleansing.

And you fuckers had better start being very, very loud about that, because the rage in the streets is even more palpable than the pepper balls and tear gas grenades being shot by Bovino's criminal gangs. We need leadership, right the hell now, and if American lawmakers from both parties don't want to be seen as complicit partners in these murders they need to step up and tell Americans what their leaders intend to do about it.

Minneapolis protester as he's being brutalized by feds: "You're gonna have to kill me! You're gonna have to kill me! I've done nothing wrong! My name is Matthew James! I'm a US citizen! You're gonna kill me! Is that what you want?" (You can hear his wife screaming)

Three apartments worth of people on their balconies here are heckling agents down below. One person has produced a white board that says "ICE can suck my dick." "Fuck you all! Kill yourselves!"

I wish I hadn't watched that video. I never watched the killing of Renee Good and hope I never have to. I don't need to see it to fight it. Today at least four federal agents were beating a man and then one of them (I think) shot him point blank while he was on the ground. More agents present.

ICE agent: "We're gonna come back for your whole family, okay?"

I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

We live in a heavily armed society. If members of the public lose faith in legal and political processes of accountability, things will spiral. We really do not want that.

You can't tell people under attack to remain calm and not do anything if you, also, are not going to do anything to protect them. That's just not how it works.

The official policy of the government of the United States of America is that they will murder anyone they want, that they will tell any lie necessary to justify that murder, and that no one who resists them has any rights they are bound to respect. /1
